Upon waking up on Sunday we were bummed to learn MSTRKRFT had canceled their appearance at Monolith, which forced Phoenix to perform on the Main Stage at Red Rocks. The band did not disappoint and played to one of the largest crowds of the weekend. We were lucky enough to capture the set opener ("Lisztomania") on video from about as close as you can get without being on the stage.

Looking around on Sunday there was definitely a much younger crowd at Monolith. Judging by the sea of people, it seemed like all the hipsters were here to catch Passion Pit. We got a few videos ("Little Secrets", "Sleepyhead") of the madness down below.

We finished our Monolith recap (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Of Montreal, Girl Talk, Doom, M. Ward, The Walkmen, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Thao w/ The Get Down Stay Down, The Antlers) of Saturday last week, now onto Sunday.

We decided it would be best to sleep in for a little and watch opening NFL weekend, then head to the festival. Our first band was the Israeli trio, Monotonix. Richard has seem them a few times here in Austin, but I've never experienced the craziness they bring! Walking into Red Rocks Monotonix had all the photographers up on stage and decided they would play in the crowd, even standing on the crowd's hands.

Our friend Ashley was fortunate enough to interview the band while up in Denver, read it over at Covert Curiosity. If you'd like to catch Monotonix, they'll be in town this Friday at Emo's, with tickets on sale for $15.
