Austin City Limits Reveal A Bunch of Upcoming Tapings

Although the venue may have changed, the Austin City Limits' inaugural season will resume tapings in August, and we couldn't be more excited! If you haven't had a chance to partake in a musical event at The Moody Theater, you won't believe your ears how incredible of a place it is to take in a concert there. Seriously, I wish I could see every concert there from now on!

Now on to the taping schedule:
Joanna Newsom on Monday, August 1st
The Decemberists on Tuesday, August 9th
Gillian Welch on Tuesday, August 9th
Jeff Bridges on Wednesday, August 10th
Arcade Fire on Saturday, September 17th
Randy Newman on Monday, September 19th

As always with any announcements regarding ticket availability and giveaways for these amazing shows  be sure to keep an eye on the ACL blog about a week before each taping. You can also follow them on Twitter (@acltv) and their Facebook page. (via)

Last Night: Arcade Fire & Explosions In The Sky at The Backyard [5.3.11]

We had a great time at Arcade Fire & Explosions In The Sky on Tuesday evening at The (new) Backyard! While the venue has some parking issues to work out, we have to say the performance by Arcade Fire was (as always) full of energy, with the crowd hanging onto every last word.

Now onto the pictures of both bands and videos of "The Suburbs" and "No Cars Go". Hope you enjoy!

Looking Back: Arcade Fire "Rebellion (Lies)" Video

Arcade Fire recorded their debut album Funeral at Hotel2Tango in late 2003. It was released on September 14, 2004. It was given its title because several band members lost people in their families: Regine Chassagne's grandmother died in June 2003, Win and William Butler's grandfather (swing musician Alvino Rey) in March 2004, and Richard Reed Parry's aunt in April 2004. It contained five singles: "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)", "Neighborhood #2 (Laika)", Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)", "Rebellion (Lies)", and "Wake Up".

Our selection for this week's feature is the video for "Rebellion (Lies)". This is probably my favorite song from Arcade Fire and every time I hear it, I'm reminded of their legendary performance at ACL 05' while being surrounded with great friends.
