Jenny Lewis 2009 U.S. Tour Dates :: w/ Austin date (Stubb's)

We've been fans of Jenny Lewis for a long time, ever since her days in The Wizard. No, but seriously this girl has been busy making some great music over the past few years. In addition to being in Rilo Kiley, she's recorded with The Postal Service, Bright Eyes, and even put out an album with the Watson twins.

A documentary entitled "Welcome to Van Nuys" is set for release in the near future and records the behind-the-scenes making of her latest solo album Acid Tongue.

[Purchase Acid Tongue via iTunes]

In April, she returns to the U.S. to play a bunch of shows over the Summer, including dates at Coachella and Bonnaroo. On June 22nd, she'll be coming back to Stubb's here in Austin, with support from Heartless Bastards. Tickets for Austinites go on sale this Saturday (4/4) at 10AM. However, if you must buy your tickets now, most of the venues (including Austin for $17) have a pre-sale, already going on.

SXSW 2009: Spin Magazine's Annual SXSW Bash @ Stubb's (3/20)

SPIN Magazine is throwing it's annual SXSW Bash at Stubb's on Friday, March 20th (noon - 6:30pm) and damn it's a good one!  Headlining will be none other than Echo & the Bunnymen. Also on the bill:  Hot Leg (former frontman of the Darkness, Justin Hawkins's new band), Black Lips, Glasvegas, Passion Pit, and Cut Off Your Hands. The party will also feature some DJ sets from the Crystal Method and N.A.S.A. Wow, SPIN definitely knows how to throw a party!

The indoor stage will include performances by The Monthlies, Burke, and Hatcham Social.

We got to go to the SPIN bash back in 2006 (Thanks again Janelle!). It was so awesome to see We Are Scientists right in front of the stage and before they blew up. There was free BBQ, free whiskey, and best of all, we got to meet the band as well.

For the first time ever, SPIN will be giving away loads of passes to the invite-only event. Stay tuned to SPIN.com in the coming weeks for details, and for loads of SXSW preview coverage.
